Sustainability Lead

The Sustainability Lead (sometimes "Carbon Coordinator" or "Sustainability Manager") is the named individual responsible for the production's Sustainability — albert, AdGreen, Green Film reporting and Carbon Action Plan. Required wherever the production is going for albert (administered in Ireland by Coimisiún na Meán), AdGreen or Green Film certification.

Cross-company role

The Sustainability Lead is commonly a freelance role. One person typically carries the lead on several productions across multiple production companies in parallel — broadcaster delivery gates make sustainability sign-off a hard requirement, which makes the role widespread.

Responsibilities

• Nominate the certification programme (albert / AdGreen / Green Film / Other)
• Run the Carbon Action Plan (CAP) lifecycle: - Footprint report (drafted → submitted → accepted) - Carbon Action Plan - Post-production reconciliation
• Track operational practices through the shoot (paperless / EV kit / battery genny / etc.)
• Publish the broadcaster-required sign-off (Albert sign-off is a hard delivery gate)
• Liaise with the certifying body throughout
