Medic (Production Medic)
The Medic is a qualified medical professional on set — typically a paramedic or emergency medical technician — providing immediate medical response during the shoot. Required on productions with Stunt Coordinator activity, SFX Supervisor (Special Effects) activity, fire / pyrotechnics, water work, or other elevated risk profiles.
What the role does
- Provides immediate medical response to any incident
- Maintains on-set medical kit to PHECC standard
- Pre-briefs the risk-assessment for high-risk sequences
- Coordinates with emergency services for major incidents
- Liaises with 1st Assistant Director (1st AD) + Stunt Coordinator + SFX Supervisor (Special Effects) on schedule + risk
Position
Reports to producer + 1st Assistant Director (1st AD) operationally.
Career progression
Pre-hospital medical career — paramedic / EMT / nurse qualifications. Required certifications + PHECC registration.
