Camera Trainee

The Camera Trainee is the entry-level Camera role. Works under the Clapper Loader (2nd AC) learning camera kit, slate operation, and on-set camera-team discipline.

What the role does

• Supports kit handling + slate operation
• Manages camera trailer + storage
• Observes the Focus Puller (1st AC) + Camera Operator on shoot-day work
• Runs camera-department errands

Position

Reports to Clapper Loader (2nd AC).

Career progression

Path: Trainee → Clapper Loader (2nd AC) → Focus Puller (1st AC) → Camera Operator → Director of Photography (DoP / DP).
