Music Supervisor

The Music Supervisor sources and clears music for the production — typically pre-existing commercial tracks used in soundtrack rather than the original score (which is the Composer's territory).

What the role does

• Sources commercial music matching the director's brief
• Negotiates music licensing + clearances — sync + master rights
• Manages music budget
• Coordinates with Composer on score-vs-source-music split
• Coordinates with Music Editor on sync placement
