The Clapper Loader (2nd AC — 2nd Assistant Camera) is the junior operational role in the Camera team. Slates each take, manages camera media, marks actor positions, runs camera reports.

What the role does

  • Slates each take — the clapperboard with scene + take + roll info
  • Loads + manages camera media (cards on digital, mags on film)
  • Marks actors — placing marks on the floor for blocking continuity
  • Maintains camera reports — every take logged with technical metadata
  • Coordinates with Digital Imaging Technician (DIT) on media handoff

Position

Reports to Focus Puller (1st AC). Supervises Camera Trainee.
