Electrician (Spark)

The Electrician (commonly "Spark") is the working lighting technician — setting up + operating fixtures under the Best Boy Electric.

What the role does

• Sets up + operates lighting fixtures
• Handles cabling + distribution
• Operates dimmer boards + control for complex setups
• Coordinates with Best Boy Electric on shoot-day allocation

Position

Reports to Best Boy Electric.

Career progression

Path: Electrician Trainee → Electrician (Spark) → Best Boy Electric → Gaffer.

Related guild / professional body

• ETU / SIPTU electricians. Often holds national electrician qualifications + Safe Pass.
